Studying Architectural Technology

“I feel incredibly proud to be bestowed this honour. It gives me a great morale boost, and this opportunity means I can aim to be as accomplished in my chosen field as Andrew Platten.

"My passion for architecture started at college. I worked on a project creating a design for student accommodation which was judged by an architecture firm. I impressed the judges and met with the principal designer from the firm and spoke about the career path, and from then on I was determined to succeed in the field.

“Since deciding to study architectural technology I have become infatuated with the subject, and have taken every step that I can to increase my understanding of the subject and the profession. Coming to study at Leeds Beckett was always my primary goal. I have always loved Yorkshire as I was born and originally grew up here before moving away. The course was ideal for me as well - from the beginning of studying architecture at college I had only heard good things about the academics and the way the course was taught.

"The scholarship will help me massively – it will help me to excel in my studies at Leeds Beckett, get my degree, and begin my career in Architectural Technology.

“My dream role is to work in the architecture industry, and I my aim is to have a career in architectural technology. I am focussed on continuing my studies at Leeds Beckett to help me to get there, and in the future I want to continue working hard in the same way to go on to progress in the profession."
