Why did you choose to study Sport & Exercise Science?

I have always been drawn to the scientific side of sport. Anatomy and physical activity have always been a passion of mine. Coming to university has given me the opportunity to apply my knowledge to new concepts and broaden my learning around the subject of sport science.

"Money can be a sensitive subject and the thought of going to university was only a dream before I found out about grants and scholarships. Receiving a scholarship has taken the financial stress away."

How has been a Polly Ollies scholar helped you?

Money can be a sensitive subject and the thought of going to university was only a dream before I found out about grants and scholarships. There are a lot of financial commitments that you have to make at university that you don’t always think of, including commuting to placements, buying books, and materials for field trips. Receiving a scholarship has taken the financial stress away.

What would you like to do after you graduate?

In the future I would like to be working in either the physiotherapy or cardiac rehabilitation sector. I feel the scholarship has given me greater prospects for the future. This support will help me to succeed in my education, and in turn help me to support others through the work I hope to do in my career.
