Your campus card (or student ID) is your key to on-campus facilities and services.

On this page you’ll find information about what you’ll need your campus card for, how to get one if you’re a new student or if you need a replacement, and guidelines on providing a suitable photo for your card.

What is my campus card and what do I need it for?

When you start a new course for the first time, most students will receive a student campus card. Your card contains details about you, such as your name, your username and when your card expires. It also contains a photo for identification purposes. Your campus card is essential for accessing key facilities and services on campus. You will need your card for:

  • Access to certain buildings

  • Printing while on campus
  • Access to sports facilities
  • Library access
  • Proof of student status for exams

All you need to know if you are a new student or colleague to Leeds Beckett University

If you are commencing your studies in January 2024 you should upload a suitable photograph to Online Welcome by Sunday 7 January

The photo you upload must adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Be similar to a passport photo (but not a photo of your passport)
  • Be a head and shoulders image
  • Be a recent photo (we must be able to recognise it is you)
  • Be a colour photo
  • It must contain only you in the frame (no group photos or animals)
  • Filters must not be applied - e.g. Snapchat
  • You must be facing towards the camera and looking directly at it
  • Be appropriately dressed (no hats, sunglasses, and no shower selfies please!)
  • You can smile!

If you are a new student commencing your studies in January 2024, you should follow the steps below:

  1. Upload a suitable photo for your campus card to Online Welcome by Midnight Sunday 7 January 2024.
  2. Visit your School's Admin Office during your course induction.
  3. Your Course Administrator will ensure appropriate enrolment and ID checks have been completed. This will include that you have enrolled online, uploaded your required ID documentation to Online Welcome, and completed any other pre-enrolment checks, such as DBS.
  4. If all your appropriate checks are complete, and you uploaded a suitable photo, your campus card may be with your School.
  5. If your campus card is not with your School, you will be issued a no card slip, unless you are a Business student, you will be issued with an electronic no-card slip accessible via your student email. This can then be exchanged for your card at either of our Student Services Centres. The Student Advice Team will take your photo and print your card for you while you wait.*
