Examinations may form part of your university assessment. Even though you've probably got taken examinations in the past, they can still make you nervous. It's important to make sure you feel as prepared for your exam as you can be, and to make sure you have all the relevant information.

On this page you will be able to find information about teaching and learning, and who to speak to if you have a specific question about your exam.

Remember to look after yourself in exam season, to arrive at your exam with lots of time to spare, and to wear comfortable clothes.

Are examinations affected by Covid-19?

Our university has taken the decision not to operate ‘in person’ examinations for the foreseeable future due to the uncertain circumstances of the Covid-19 outbreak and the risk this poses in terms of being able to deliver a fair and consistent examination experience for all students. We have therefore taken action to replace the majority of examinations with an alternate assessment method.

Any essential examinations (required by a professional, statutory and regulatory body or other organisation external to our university) will take place through an ‘online’-based approach. If you are required to take an examination, your course team will inform you of this, providing further instruction around how the examination will be completed.

For the most up-to-date information about the effects of Covid-19 on examinations, please see our Covid-19 web pages.

I have a specific question about my exam, who can I speak to?

If you have a specific question not answered on our Covid-19 webpages, please speak to your course administrator.

If you're unsure who your course administrator is, please get in touch with our Student Advice team.
