PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT in educationÂ
We provide a suite of courses to support innovation in education. Challenging inequalities and developing advocates and leaders is at the heart of the what we do.
The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools
The Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, exists to strengthen the mental health of the next generation by supporting schools to make a positive change at all levels of the UK's education system, improving outcomes and life chances.
The Department for Education recognises the direct link between positive mental health in schools and successful educational outcomes; our Mental Health Award for Schools builds on this link and provides a framework for your institution to evidence policies and initiatives that work towards improving emotional health and wellbeing for both your staff and pupils.
To book a place on any of our programmes please email: schoolmh@leedsbeckett.ac.uk
The work we do ensures that mental health difficulties do not stand in the way of a young persons success in the future.
The Centre for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Education
The Centre for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Education is committed to changing all forms of prejudice, discrimination and marginalisation towards individuals and collectives in schools and colleges who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer / Questioning and others who have gender identities or sexual orientations that differ from the heterosexual and cisgender majority.
We provide a research informed quality mark / accreditation for schools and colleges to evidence and show effectiveness and impact of their whole school approach to LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Translate your school’s mission, vision and values into policies, processes and practice which support your commitment to having a rich whole school culture where all members of your school community thrive.
The Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality
Established to challenge everyday racism and structural race inequalities in education, The Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality (CRED) works with education professionals in all sectors from early years through to further education to develop teachers and practitioners to become race equality education activists/advocates.
The Anti Racist School Award takes a community approach to developing a culture of anti-racism in your school providing a framework to evidence policies and initiatives for both staff and pupils within the wider school community.
Challenge racism in all its forms. We work with teachers, children and young people to develop teaching resources to tackle racism in schools and society.
