our community
Always learning, together
We're passionate about addressing education's biggest questions. Whether we're working with schools or industry, we're always open to discovering something new, and making sure it has an impact.
Meet some of our community and find out more about what we do.
The Carnegie School of Education is a school committed to social justice and equality. Our teaching philosophy centres around supporting students to become highly skilled, critical thinkers who are ready to make a significant contribution to the lives of children, young people, and communities. We provide a leading and cutting-edge educational experience for our students, securing positive outcomes for them and those who they will go on to influence.
Our academic team undertake purposeful and meaningful research that has clear benefits to children, young people, families, and communities. Our knowledge creation capabilities are used to influence policy, practise, and the direction-of-travel in education regionally, nationally, and internationally. As a staff team, those who work at the Carnegie School of Education utilise their expertise and compassion to develop individual welfare support and nourishment for every member of our student body.
Our colleagues and partners
At Carnegie School of Education, you'll meet researchers, lecturers and practitioners who have dedicated their careers to making sure that education works better for everyone.
As well as teaching the next generation of educators, our team is involved in research that has powerful real-world impact, both in Leeds and across the world.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We make the most of our diverse backgrounds, experience and expertise to deliver truly interdisciplinary and inclusive work. Because we can't learn from each other, if we don't talk to each other.

Our students and alumni
What does it mean to be part of our community? It means being open to learning from others. It means being socially conscious, and confident enough to challenge how things are.
Our students come from many different places, and are at different stages in their journey. But each one is dedicated to becoming the sort of professional that changes lives.
