The Leeds Beckett website is designed to enable you to manage your own privacy preferences. By clicking on 'Cookies' below you can manage what data the site collects about your browsing. Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Below, you'll find essential information for both outbound Leeds Beckett students seeking single-semester accommodation before their exchange, and inbound exchange students joining us in Leeds.

If you are coming to Leeds Beckett on exchange, we guarantee you accommodation if you book before 31st July for Semester 1 or 31st December for Semester 2.

Single-semester accommodation is available in Arena Village and Marsden House.

If you are going on exchange and need single semester accommodation in Leeds, please email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk with a confirmation of your exchange and we can amend your profile to allow you to book single semester accommodation. Single semester accommodation is available in Arena Village and Marsden House.

How to book

Within 48 hours of receiving your Leeds Beckett student ID, you should receive an email inviting you to create an account on the accommodation booking portal. Please log in and complete the sections about your personal details, if you have a disability or allergy and your personal profile.

Depending on the time of year that you are booking, you may then be able to self-allocate a room but if it is showing that there is nothing available please email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk as we hold rooms back for exchange students so we can book you in.

Exchange Student FAQs

If it's been 48 hours since you received your Leeds Beckett student ID and you've not had an email about accommodation please email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.

If you've not received your Leeds Beckett student ID yet, we cannot reserve a room for you but please be assured that we have plenty of accommodation.

If you would like to live with a friend, please email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk with their name and student ID and we will do our best to allocate you together in the same flat or close to each other.

If you have a preference as to whether you live with exchange or non-exchange students please let us know when you email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk and we will do our best to meet that preference.

Please email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk and we will create a booking for you, we hold rooms back from the online portal for exchange students.

You can book privately but most private accommodation has a contract length of between 40-52 weeks so you may find it difficult to find single semester options. If you would like to look for private accommodation we recommend searching through Unipol Student Homes. Unipol is a charity that helps students to find good quality homes while studying in Leeds.
