Students from a care experience background

For students from a care experienced background, we can offer a guarantee of accommodation for the duration of your studies at Leeds Beckett. We can also offer you accommodation over the summer period, although please be aware this may be in a different room to your term-time room.

Applying for Accommodation

Students from a care experience background can apply for accommodation using the online accommodation portal. We recommend you book a property where the university is your landlord (Arena Village, Carnegie Village or Marsden House) as here you will have access to additional support through the Res Life team and we can waive requirements such as guarantors.

Students from a care experienced background staying at Arena Village, Carnegie Village or Marsden House can apply for their advance rent payment to be paid by a university fund. Applications for this scheme can be made at the point of accepting your licence agreement.

Students from a care experienced background staying at Arena Village, Carnegie Village or Marsden House are not required to provide a guarantor. You can apply for guarantor exemption at the point of accepting your licence agreement.

If some or all of your fees are being covered by your local authority, your local authority team may need an invoice to process the payment. If you need any support with your payment, please contact accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk for further information.
