Additional funding from Leeds Beckett University

  1. Leeds Beckett Care Leavers and Estranged Students Bursary

    If you have been in care prior to starting university, you may be eligible for a bursary of £1,500 in each year that you remain enrolled on your undergraduate course.

  2. Primary Carers Bursary

    This bursary is intended to assist full-time undergraduate students who have responsibility as primary carer for a dependent adult that will continue whilst they are studying. The amount payable will be assessed based on individual circumstances, up to a maximum award of £1,500.

  3. Sports Scholarships

    These scholarships are designed to help you receive technical, pastoral and financial support whilst developing your sporting performance alongside your studies.

  4. Tenancy Deposit Scheme

    If you have difficulty paying a deposit for your accommodation and are from a low income background, you are classed as an independent or estranged student or you are in receipt of welfare benefits, you may be able to apply for help through the Leeds Beckett Hardship Scheme.

  5. Hardship funds

    Our Hardship Funds may be able to provide you with additional help to meet unexpected financial hardship you may face at university. Most awards made from the Hardship Funds do not have to be repaid.

  6. Bright Futures Scholarships

    The Bright Futures Scholarships offer financial support to students who might otherwise be unable to afford a university education. The scholarships are awarded to first year students who are the first in their family to go to university and are based on academic merit, with funding for the scheme provided by Leeds Beckett graduates.

  7. Additional funding from the Government

    You may also be eligible to apply for additional funding from the Government. Grants and allowances currently on offer include:

    • Childcare Grant
    • Parents’ Learning Allowance
    • Adult Dependents’ Grant
    • Disabled Students’ Allowance
