Studying Audio Engineering

In my hometown a group of my friends started a band and I would regularly sit in during practices, go to their gigs and watch as they recorded and mixed their own songs. Being around this environment peaked my interest in working in the music industry. So when looking for a course I would be interested in taking, audio engineering at Leeds Beckett seemed like the perfect option.

How will the Paul Wilmott Scholarship help?

The Paul Wilmott Scholarship will play a big part in being able to buy equipment I need for my course. I often need to be able to do mixing at home and so having an new laptop with the specialised software I need is kind of essential.

In the future my preferred career would to be to work in a studio setting, helping musicians with the recording process so that their music can be created efficiently and to the best possible quality. As well as being interested in the production of music for others, I also aspire to use the skills learnt from this course so that I am able to record, mix and master my own music to a professional standard.
