Fundraising

We work with a wide range of charities and not-for-profit organisations to provide motivating fundraising challenges that have helped raise thousands of pounds.

Using our experience and expertise we can support you to develop, plan and deliver an inspirational, safe and successful fundraising event. The activities, run by our highly qualified instructors, are specifically designed to cater for different levels of ability and fitness, making it a highly enjoyable experience to help you recruit fundraisers to your cause. Our challenges are a great way of bringing families, friends and colleagues together to support a cause that is close to them, whilst spreading awareness of the chose charity in the wider community.

Walking Challenges

No previous experience is necessary for our walking challenges, however, good health and reasonable fitness are essential. We can provide training plans to assist with personal preparation.

Yorkshire Three Peaks

Starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale at the crack of dawn, participants will navigate 24 miles through the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales to climb Yorkshire’s finest peaks – Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. An ideal walk for small and large groups, it is a fantastic team building exercise and hugely rewarding whether one, two or all three peaks are completed. The aim is to complete all three peaks within 12 hours.

National Three Peaks

Climb the three highest national peaks. Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland. Participants can attempt to complete all three peaks within 24-hours, or alternatively complete over a long weekend. This is a testing but hugely popular challenge which requires a high level of fitness and some advanced training in preparation. Sleep deprivation is a factor to consider as this will increase the difficulty.

Edale Skyline Challenge

This classic Peak District challenge enables challenge participants to ascend several summits on a circular walk surrounding the beautiful Vale of Edale. A challenging route of 21.2 miles with a tough 1,355m (4448ft) of ascent requiring a good level of fitness and lots of determination.

Highlights of this route include Lose Hill, Back Tor, Mam Tor, Rushup Edge, Brown Knoll, Kinder Scout southern edge and Win Hill. The Edale Skyline challenge route takes in the Dark Peak’s highest ridges, trails and summits.

Without the input and professionalism of Carnegie Great Outdoors, our Yorkshire Three Peaks event, of which we raised in excess of £60,000, would have been extremely difficult to undertake. From the logistics team coordinating behind the scenes, right the wa through to presenting the event to walkers and then to marshalling the event itself, everything ran like clockwork and we commend them for their hard work and dedication to our wonderful cause. We look forward to working with Carnegie Great Outdoors on future events and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to use their services.

Abseil Challenges

Abseiling is a fantastic challenge suitable for everyone, with no previous experience or skills required. It is an adrenaline fuelled activity involving controlled movement down a rope to descend down a rock face or high building.

Our qualified instructors will support and encourage participants as they enjoy the exhilaration of stepping over the edge and leaning back. Everyone will be taught the techniques to control descent safely and all equipment will be provided.

Carnegie Great Outdoors will provide all the equipment and technical expertise required for the abseil, either at our 100ft Portland Building in Leeds City Centre or at a location of your choice (subject to a risk assessment). At some venues, we will be able to run multiple abseil lines simultaneously, meaning participants can descend together to provide moral support. You can also boost the fun by encouraging everyone to wear fancy dress or promotional costumes.

A charity abseil is a great way to raise money for charity and can generate between £5,000 and £40,000 per day depending on the number of participants. This challenge is suitable for anyone aged 13+ years regardless of ability.

Carnegie Great Outdoors worked with us to put on a charity abseil. The staff were brilliant at explaining how the day would work and met with us at the venue beforehand to talk through the event. We were very confident in their abilities and they provided us with all the necessary paperwork, health and safety and insurance details. It was extremely good value for money, enabling us to raise maximum funds towards patient care. We had around 40 participants and everyone had nothing but positive feedback for the CGO staff. They were really friendly, relaxed and put everyone at ease which was perfect considering the challenge. A few people who took part had additional needs and these were met with total care and understanding by the team. I would definitely recommend Carnegie Great Outdoors.

Abseiling Testimonial

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all at Carnegie Great Outdoors who made our abseil events so successful. The four guys who ran the event were incredible. They were so professional and made every single one of our abseilers feel confident about their challenge ahead. Honestly they made a great team and you helped us to raise an outstanding £13,000 with more money coming in so we are beyond appreciative.
