Leeds Anchor Network

We are Beckett. We are Leeds.

Anchor institutions are large, locally rooted organisations like councils, colleges, universities, hospitals and big businesses with local HQs. They provide vital services and enable positive change at a local and regional level through the numbers of people they employ, the way they spend money and use their knowledge, land and other assets to invest in and improve lives in the local communities.

Leeds Beckett University is a partner of the Leeds Anchor Network, working with other institutions committed to investing time and resources to benefit Leeds economic, cultural and social life.

Professor Peter Slee, Vice Chancellor of Leeds Beckett University, chairs the Leeds Anchors Network.

The Leeds Anchors network brings together organisations rooted in the city who make a major contribution to the local economy. The network allows us to collaborate with other like-minded partners to increase the benefits that we bring to our city by creating high-quality job opportunities, enhancing the skills of local people, and encouraging local spending and services, each contributing to the economic and inclusive growth of the region.

We look forward to continuing our work with community partners across the city, aligning our services to effectively support local needs, and allowing our students, graduates, and staff to come together and bring benefit to the communities in the areas of Leeds that are most in need.
