Leeds Beckett Degree Outcomes Statement
In May 2019 the UK Standing Committee for Quality Assessment published a Statement of Intent proposing that every higher education provider across England produce and publish a Degree Outcomes Statement analysing their degree classification profile and articulating the results of an internal review in the context of their arrangements for teaching, learning and assessment of students, academic regulations, and academic governance.
The statement is informed by a review of institutional degree standards and assessment practice, taken forward under the auspices of the University’s Degree Standards Review Group, which included representation from Schools, the Students’ Union, and Central Professional Services. Draft versions of Leeds Beckett’s Statement and supporting evidence were considered by the University’s Academic Board, and externally verified by an independent expert prior to approval by our Board of Governors.
The purpose of the statement is to provide assurances concerning the standard of institutional honours degree awards and the methodologies by which they are classified.
