Do you want to support people to live healthier, more mobile lives, and support those who are unwell? Learn from our Rehabilitation and Health Professions team who have expertise in healthy eating, physical activity, exercise, purposeful activity, health promotion and lifestyle management to foster healthy living. Pursue a career in dietetics, nutrition, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, sports and exercise therapy or sport and exercise medicine. At Leeds Beckett University, you'll develop your skills and confidence through a combination of teaching, group work, placement experiences, learning to solve problems and communicate effectively.

We have an inspiring teaching and research team with close links to the NHS, the private and voluntary sector, social care, research and industry. We pride ourselves on applied courses that lead directly into graduate roles. Many of our courses include placements which allow you to apply your skills throughout the course and transition easily into the workplace. We are accredited by the Association of UK Dietitians, the Association for Nutrition, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Health and Care Professions Council, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Society of Sports Therapists. We offer a BSc Occupational Therapy course and an MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) course. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as an occupational therapist.

The BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy courses are both accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

Both of our physiotherapy courses are validated and approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health & Care Professions Council.
The team has specialist clinical experience across the breadth of physiotherapy and our staff members produce empirical research and presents peer-reviewed journal papers to national and international audiences. Many of our staff are Fellows and Senior Fellows of 'Advanced HE' being the British professional body that promotes excellence in higher education.

We are proud to have a number of Visiting Professors including Karen Middleton (previously the Chief Executive of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy).

If you wish to pursue a career in sport then you may be interested in our four-year pathway that comprises the full-time three-year BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course and a one-year postgraduate MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine - the MSc may be studied on a full-time or part-time basis.

Our sports and exercise medicine team is made up of qualified medical and healthcare practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage the health requirements of recreational and elite sports participants.

Our courses produce highly-skilled practitioners who can apply their expertise to a range of sports and at all levels. Graduates have gone on to secure roles with rugby league giants Leeds Rhinos, rugby union's Yorkshire Carnegie and Chesterfield Panthers, netball's Yorkshire Jets and cricket's Yorkshire Diamonds.

Both courses are accredited by The Society of Sports Therapists, the lead organisation for sports therapists in the UK.

Our food inspection and nutrition labs are used for developing practical food inspection skills and teaching the understanding of dietary composition.
