Covid-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected our activities and the programmes we can offer.

We have adapted the way we work and all of the activities we deliver will meet or exceed the latest guidance from Public Health England (PHE) and the UK Government. We also strictly adhere to the advice and guidance of our National Governing Bodies.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

  • Safe distance: we are practising safe social distancing
  • Reduced group sizes: to keep you safe we have limited the number of participants on session in line with Government regulations
  • Enhanced cleanliness: we have increased cleaning and sanitising our equipment
  • Training and PPE: our instructors have received COVID-19 Infection Control Training and will wear appropriate PPE
  • Hand sanitation: we are encouraging regular hand washing and hand sanitisation throughout sessions

Getting outside, taking some exercise and being close to nature can help to improve your health and wellbeing.

During the pandemic you may have made your first step into the outdoors by escaping lockdown with your local daily exercise; we offer varied and exciting activities to help you continue to explore the health and wellbeing benefits of the great outdoors. Not only will attending our activity sessions help you to unlock the physical health benefits of outdoor exercise but you will discover the many benefits to your emotional wellbeing and mental health. Depending on the activity; our outdoor sessions can help you to de-stress, relax, and un-wind or feel energised, invigorated and revitalised. Whichever activity session you choose, it's guaranteed to be a mood booster.

When regulations allow, taking part in one of our activity sessions with your family and friends, or even with your work colleagues, can help you to forget your troubles, build your connections and personal relationships, socialise and interact with each other, and make happy memories to last.

We have detailed risk assessments and method statements for each of the activities we will deliver.

In addition to this, VisitBritain has approved Carnegie Great Outdoors as a “We’re Good To Go” provider. The “We’re Good To Go” industry standard mark is a self-assessment scheme that has been designed by VisitEngland in partnership with the national tourist organisations Tourism Northern Ireland, VisitScotland and Visit Wales to provide reassurance to visitors that businesses have clear processes in place and are following industry and Government COVID-19 guidance on cleanliness and social distancing.
