Engagement Process for Pre-Placement Requirements

All health and social care students must engage with pre-professional requirements and participation in practice learning opportunities and assessments, the practice learning team supports administration for successful completion of practice learning as well as compliance with the related requirements of professional, regulatory and funding bodies.

The School of Health sets out below what we expect of students, how we monitor and support pre-professional practice learning engagement and what happens if pre-professional placement engagement is unsatisfactory.

All students are expected to:

  • Engage and attend with pre-professional learning requirements – in person or online - and engage with questionnaires, assessments and support
  • Let the university know if something is affecting their engagement or if they are unable to attend organised requirements due to illness, disability or other good reason
  • Be familiar with their practice learning handbook or other course documentation which provides more information on specific requirements relating to pre-professional practice learning engagement
