Who we are

We're using research and knowledge exchange to address global core challenges. We'll use our expertise, networks and approach to effect meaningful change both in the region we call home, at a national scale, and worldwide. This means that we can produce knowledge that changes the world for the better.

To do this, we need a clear and coherent Policy Engagement Strategy. This Strategy will support us in building and maintaining relationships between our researchers and policymakers, to support effective and ongoing public policy engagement. This will help us to enact real world change.

If you're policy maker, business, community organisation or individual interested in working with Leeds Beckett University, email: policy@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.

What is policy engagement?

Policy Engagement is how researchers and academics work to influence, inform and contribute to policy. This happens in a wide variety of forums including Parliamentary Select Committees, All Party Parliamentary Groups and events like Evidence Week in Parliament. This is in addition to formal and informal discussions with Members of Parliament (MPs) and civil servants.

Bringing together policy makers and researchers ensures that they have access to the research and expertise required to make informed and effective policy decisions.
