The Leeds Beckett website is designed to enable you to manage your own privacy preferences. By clicking on 'Cookies' below you can manage what data the site collects about your browsing. Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

How to apply for accommodation through clearing

You will be able to register for accommodation online once you have been offered and accepted a place.

If you are applying through Clearing you need to wait until you have added Leeds Beckett as your Clearing choice through UCAS Hub, and we have processed your offer, before you will be able to apply online. You will be sent an email once you are eligible to book inviting you to create an account in the Accommodation booking system. You will not be able to apply for accommodation until you receive this email and it can take up to 48 hours for the data to feed through from the point that you accept your place on UCAS Hub.

If you get into Leeds Beckett as your insurance choice your details should feed through to the accommodation system once your place is confirmed. Please allow 24 hours to receive your email. If you have not received your email and think you should have done please call us on 0113 812 5972, email accommodation@leedsbeckett.ac.uk or send us a message on LiveChat on the accommodation website during working hours.

Registering for accommodation

Once you have received your invite email for accommodation you will be able to log in and register for accommodation. Upon logging in you will need to complete the following steps:

You will be asked to either:
1. Make sure your details are correct
2. Or, fill in your details - please make sure these are correct
You will be asked if you have a disability – please fill this with as much detail as you can so we can allocate you a suitable room.
If your disability impacts your accommodation please call the team on +44 (0)113 8125972 to arrange suitable accommodation.
You can then opt in to share limited personal details with your future flatmates. If you opt in this will display your age and gender and chosen screen name to your flatmates. You can also complete an ‘about me’ and a profile about yourself.
You can then tell us what type of accommodation you are looking for. You will be asked to list three properties you would be interested in booking and your budget for accommodation.

What will happen next?

1. We will attempt to allocate you one of your preferred options but please note this may not be possible.

If you do not want your allocated room please let us know as soon as possible
If you decline your allocation then you can reapply but you will re-join at the back of the list and there is no guarantee we will be able to offer you your preferred location

2. You will receive a licence agreement, depending on the accommodation you might be asked to pay a £200 advanced rent payment. To finalise your booking you will need to read the terms and conditions and accept the offer promptly.
