Our Journalism course is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), and is designed for a variety of press careers, whether that's in national newspapers, regional press, television or radio.
You'll learn to be an adaptable and confident professional that's comfortable in our multi-platform world. Our Media Suite is the place to learn all the skills you'll need, from TV presenting and production to radio and news writing.

Senior lecturer Carmen Bruegmann is a former national newspaper journalist and magazine editor who teaches news reporting, feature writing and magazine production on both the BA and MSc Journalism courses.
Teela Clayton is a PhD student and lecturer in Public Relations at Leeds Beckett University. Her research explores how marginalisation manifests in health communication, with a focus on politics, hierarchies, and the discursive operation of power in strategic messaging. A CIPR Accredited PR Practitioner with agency experience across healthcare, pharma communications, consumer, and B2B sectors, Teela has also created content for magazines and learning platforms. She contributes to EUPRERA, represents the Business School in the Early Career Researcher network, and volunteers with both a regional CIPR committee and Socially Mobile to support underrepresented groups in management. At Leeds Beckett, she leads the Issues and Crisis Management module, lectures on Corporate Communications and helps co-ordinate the postgraduate dissertation programme.
Dave has been a journalist for over 30 years, working in print, online, radio and television. He's worked for local, national and international organisations, reporting on news and sport. His work also ranges from council meetings to war zones, interviewing footballers to prime ministers.

Karl Hodge is a journalist and the Course Director for Undergraduate Journalism at Leeds Beckett University, An early adopter of the web, VR and AI for digital publishing and an expert in creative technologies, he has been charting the rise and fall and rise of the web and emerging tech for four decades.
Professor Tench is the Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange for Leeds Business School and the past President and Head of the Board of Directors for the European Public Relations Research and Education Association (EUPRERA). EUPRERA is the leading academic association for public relations and strategic communication.
Rudiger is a senior lecturer in public relations and communication. He is course leader of three postgraduate courses - MA Public Relations and Strategic Communication, MSc Corporate Communications and MA International Communication, a joint programme which is run by four universities in Europe.
